Buy Tibetan Flag of Prayer Eight Prosperity Symbols

Tibetan prayer flag with the Eight Propagating Symbols. The Eight Propagating Symbols have a profound meaning in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. They show the path taken on the way to the Enlightenment. The parasol; symbolizes the protection of the Dharma for sentient beings against the scorching rays of the sun (of suffering). The Dharma protects them from diseases, obstacles, accidents, evil spirits etc. It is also a symbol of the refreshment of the shadow of positive action. The golden fish originally stand for the rivers Ganges and Yamuna in India, but now they are a common symbol of prosperity. Further, that sentient beings who practice Dharma do not have to be afraid to drown in the ocean of suffering, and will be able to move freely like fish in the water. Wensvulling vase; stands for the richness of Buddhist doctrine but also for long life, wealth, prosperity, in short of everything that is good for man in the domain of the temporary and the spiritual. De lotus; it symbolizes many aspects of the spiritual path: it grows from the mud (the cycle of existence) and appears cleanly on the surface (purification) and provides a beautiful flower (the enlightenment). The buttons represent everyone’s potential for lighting. The right-rotating shell (used as a horn) symbolizes the deep sound of the Dharma, the teaching of Buddha, which awakens all sentient beings from their sleep of ignorance and urges them to pursue their own well-being and that of others. The infinite knot; it represents the interdependence of everything, especially the practice of the Dharma and the support it gives to society. Without beginning or end, he also represents the endless wisdom of the Buddha. The victorious banner; this symbolizes the victory over negative activities and obstructions carried out by body, speech and spirit. The banner bears witness to the complete victory of the Dharma over the forces of evil within ourselves. The Dharma Wheel; this symbolizes the movement of the Dharma, or Buddha’s Teaching and its dissemination. Wherever these eight Advantageous Signs exist, mutual dependence will increase prosperity like a waxing moon. Material: 1000katoen.
